Quel est, selon vous, le principal atout de ce programme ?
Scamming people. I feel sorry for the ones paying a tuition of €10.000 a year, because it for sure doesn’t come close to be worth that amount of money.
-
Quelle est, selon vous, la principale faiblesse de ce programme ?
Pretty much everything, but mostly the professors out of which Marc Greven is the worst.

Excuse my language by the way, I’m honestly just super angry as all the negative points really set the tone for the entire experience. At the start of it, I was looking forward to having a fun and enjoyable experience, like you’re supposed to have when you’re still a student. Unfortunately, we received the complete opposite... :((

Contenu académique du programme
Most professors we had barely spoke proper English, went super fast through complex material and didn’t bother to check if their students even understood what they were talking about. In the meantime, they had so much to tell that they were never able to finish within the 3 hours, it was insanity. Also, almost every professor kept on telling the same information other professors had already told us about and still felt the need to repeat it once again. Also, if they assigned a project to us e.g. a presentation about SITEVI, they gave us exactly 0 requirements and not even a written assignment. The professor just only told us what the topic was and that was it. He even had to balls to disapprove of the result we presented to him and told us we had completely missed what he meant with the assignment he gave us. While he didn’t even give us one in the first place???

Moyens pédagogiques (bibliothèque, WIFI, locaux)
No, they don’t care about their students and are rude to them. See my other comments for additional information. No, most of them don’t know how to properly teach, which was about 95% of all the professors we had classes from. The ones who were good, only gave us 1 or 2 lectures unfortunately...

Qualité des professeurs permanents
I’m a student with 3 DSM-5 diagnoses: Dyscalculia, ADHD and C-PTSD. They couldn’t care less about it, neither about my mental health. At some point I wasn’t even able to get out of my bed anymore, because I felt super anxious and depressed. I was severely overwhelmed by the crazy amount of class hours and everything that was going on in my private life (granddad almost passed away, the subletter of my home threatened to literally steal my house, and way too much other stuff I had to deal with). The support I received from the staff was precisely 0%. One example: I had to fly back to NL to prevent the subletter from stealing my house and to throw her out and change the locks. I arrived on a Friday night and was supposed to return on Monday morning, but my flight got canceled 2 hours in advance of departure. So I emailed the teaching staff to inform them, the reply of one of them (Marc Greven) was literally; “don’t let this happen again.” How am I supposed to not let this entire situation, which was a 100% out of my control, happen again???

Contrôle des connaissances, volume et répartition des cours, travail personnel
NOT AT ALL. The weekly average was more than 43 hours a week, excluding the over-hours we made with studying for exams and finishing assignment, but also the field trips we had. The field trips were usually from about 7:00 or 8:00 until late at night at 20:00, 21:00 or even later... Those hours are not even calculated for our ECTS credits.

Reconnaissance internationale du programme
They themselves speak very highly of the recognition of the program, but I didn’t really experience this in general. Most people I spoke with in Bordeaux didn’t even know about the existence of the university in their own city.

Accompagnement/aide si départ à l'étranger
We didn’t really receive a lot of support, just the basic information about banking, phone numbers and insurance. There was barely any help with housing or anything else.

The housing was very outdated, even though I had one of the “renovated” rooms. It was super tiny, the total amount of floor space was probably less than 10m2. The room came with the following: kitchen, bathroom, bed with a very dirty and thin mattress, desk, chair. I had to buy all necessities by myself, on which I have probably spent €300 at least. And a month before departure we found out it was possible to receive all of this stuff from the uni itself, wondering why no one ever informed us about it??? People had mold growing in their rooms, no matter how much they ventilated the space. In winter it was also super cold in the room, even though we had an electrical heater. There was no time for extra-curricular activities, we also never were informed about the student clubs active on campus. The other students on campus were the only great thing to be honest, they were welcoming and interested in you as a person.

Ville étudiante, logement (coût, accès, situation)
No. Most of my time I spent there I wanted to quit, but I couldn’t afford to do so due to the requirements set by my home university. At the moment I’ve received 17/30 ECTS and the professors don’t seem to be willing to let me do a retake for the missing credits, meaning I’ll probably get a delay of my study in NL (I definitely can’t afford this...)....

Réseau des anciens, contacts professionnels
Yes, because I made a lot of friends luckily! (Not a lot of professional contacts). With most of them I’ve build up a great connection and we’ve been making plans to see each other again in the future. I do wish we would’ve gotten the opportunity to follow lectures with students from other classes though, because this would’ve helped with the integration. Nope, because we spent so many hours in class, we barely were able to actually comply the gained information in proper projects and the field. It was also so much information, we weren’t able to remember much of it in the end.

Qualité du directeur de programme et notoriété de la formation
I can’t even remember we even had a supervisor of the program. Oh wait, I think it was Marc, then it’s a definite NO. He didn’t give sh*t about anything, only his own modules and always decided it was okay to schedule extra classes without ever asking us if we were okay with it. He also kept on asking us about giving him feedback on his teaching and his classes, but whenever the feedback was slightly critically marinated, he exploded on us and pretty much started screaming that we were talking bullsh*t and that we were lying blablabla.

Stages et aide à l'insertion professionnelle
They refused to even make some time free for it, so we could focus on it and get it sorted out. I had to focus on this in the last month of the Erasmus exchange, because directly after arriving back in NL, I had to start with my internship of 5 months. Meaning I had a very short amount of time to do my research in finding suitable companies, write application letters, do interviews, etc. But I also had to follow classes, go on (multiple day) excursions, do presentations, study for exams and make the exams. The last exam was literally 3 days before my departure, I needed this time to settle my entire departure: cleaning the room, packing all of my belongings, planning my trip, saying goodbye to my friends, and a lot more. All of these things were 95% more important than the other things, but the professors refused to emphasise with us and give us a tiny bit of space to get those things settled. As a result I now need to retake things, it’s truly amazing!!! (Insert sarcasm)

Êtes-vous globalement satisfait de votre formation ?
Terrible organisation, number of hours spent in class is unhealthily high (over 40-43 hours a week). The classes were 3 hours long and sometimes even 8 hours or more, without proper breaks in between. We had 0 free time or time to study for our exams and assignments. Upon the start of the program we had been told, that classes would be about 25 hours per week and the remaining hours would be reserved for self-study (to study for exams and work on assignments). They don’t give a single sh*t about their students physical and mental health, neither when they need to return home for an emergency situation. The words empathy, compassion and student-support are not found in their dictionary. Also, they mock their students for having a learning disability and blame them for "not paying close enough attention”.

Referiez-vous le même choix de formation aujourd’hui ?
I would’ve probably chosen a different program. Like one of my friends chose a French program and they were super relaxed to him, he even didn’t have to participate in certain things as the French level was too high or something. I would choose this if I had to follow another program at BSA.
